The 'Centre Neuro-Psychiatrique Kamenge' (CNPK) in Burundi made a music video to raise awareness for mental health. They want to break the chains of stigma that today still characterize societies' perception on mental illnesses. This centre for psychiatric care is situated in one of the suburbs of the Burundian capital. Besides the hospitalisations and consultations in the centre itself, the medical staff frequently visits the district hospitals outside Bujumbura. The “equipes mobiles” of the CNPK examine the new patients and prescribe a treatment. The patients who are already being treated, receive further follow-up. The centre is a partner of Fracarita Belgium (www.fracarita-belgium.org/) and Fracarita International (fracarita-international.org/), two NGO's for development cooperation of the Brothers of Charity. You can make a donation for the initiatives of these NGO's via fracarita-international.org/33361/support-us.html Thank you in advance.
