Location : M’rirt, Khenifra Abdellah Shafiq started playing the Lghita –a traditional Moroccan wind instrument—at a young age. It soon got him in trouble as one Ramadan evening he was playing on the street during Ftour and other children started following him, clapping their hands, and banging on trash cans. It did not go over well with the locals. However, the Qayid, the local mayor, suggested that instead of annoying people during Ftour, he should play just before dawn to wake people before the S’hour. He continued to improve and soon become recognized for his skills, becoming a local celebrity under his stage name --Tetal.
