Kemetic How-to Guide: An Egyptian Hymn to Osiris

A blessed Feast of Khoiakh to all our viewers! To celebrate, this month's video features a rather ambitious project: chanting a historical hymn to Osiris in the Egyptian language. The way the language is reconstructed here is based on James Allen's latest work, Ancient Egyptian Phonology, which basically works backwards from Coptic. So some words might seem a bit different - like 'hotpa' for the more familiar 'hotep' - but with subtitles and line-for-line translation, you can follow along and try it yourself. (You certainly won't fare any worse than I have...!)
